Dental hygiene programs tennessee

The dental hygiene graduate will demonstrate competent knowledge and self-assessment skills necessary for life-long learning. Located alongside the dental hygiene academic workspace is our dental clinic. The newly renovated space on the TWU Athens campus provides the opportunity for students to learn through hands-on experience by serving members of the Tennessee Wesleyan and Athens communities.

Because this is an educational facility, apointments may be up to 3 hours in length and patients may require more than one appointment to complete treatment.

Dental Hygiene. You want a career in the dental field… one not only with great job prospects, but also one that is rewarding and gives you the opportunity to serve your patients and community.

To become licensed in Tennessee, you must have completed one of these programs. There are several offered within the state, and these are just a few examples:. Once you have completed an approved dental hygiene program, you will be prepared to take and pass the required exams for licensing in Tennessee.

You must pass the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination and at least one clinical examination approved by the Board.

These include demonstrating skills in such areas as X-rays and teeth cleaning. With passing scores, you are prepared to apply for licensing through the Tennessee Board of Dentistry. You will need to complete an application and include all the evidence of your degree and exam scores. You also have to show you have CPR certification and that you have cleared a background check. If you are already licensed in another state and have worked for at least three years, you may not have to take the exams to apply.

Once approved and licensed in Tennessee, you will also have to maintain that license. In the meantime, academic Colleges, Divisions, Departments, and Unit Heads have begun the planning process. In addition, millions of individuals throughout the country, including several thousand in Tennessee, have now been vaccinated, and the opportunity exists for everyone else to be vaccinated.

Please continue to adhere to safety guidelines and protocols. Again, I appreciate your commitment to ensuring the success of TSU, its students, and the rest of the campus community.

It takes all student's enrolled in this program at least four semesters to complete their degree. Everyone must take at least 30 credits with ETSU, so a good estimate for part-time students would be to determine how many credits they want to take each semester and then determine how many semesters it will take to complete Request More Information….
